WATCH LIVE: Virgin Galactic Unity 22 Spaceflight Livestream

On July 11, 2021 Virgin Galactic flew its first fully crewed rocket powered test flight, which welcomed the beginning of a new space age.

Aboard was our team of two pilots and four mission specialists, including Sir Richard Branson. They put our Future Astronaut spaceflight experience to the final test, while giving the world a preview of the life-changing experience.

  • @ 1:08:35 I noticed there wasn't a wheel on the front landing gear. Can someone explain why it was just a long piece of metal with a block of some material on the bottom... Was this to help slow the craft by not having to have brakes on a wheel in the front??? what was going on with this part of the landing gear? Why was this more efficient than having a wheel on the front? Seems like a way for that part of the landing gear to catch a groove in the concrete and flip the craft...

    • an airplane ride into space! thats the whole point! The concept from the beginning was to create an airplane like convenience to enter space for the common man. The huge goal will be for commercial airlines to adopt a space trajectory to travel around the earth.. So traveling from LA to London will take a couple of hours instead of 8-10 hours..

    EllHawkesEllHawkes15 dager siden
    • WHAT??? Amazon was a joke. A very old idea and landing. Branson was JAMES BOND 007 Futuristic. Bezos was what you expect from a COWBOY. A penis machine. The most impressive about Amazon was how his rocket returned to the landing spot on earth. It was more impressive to watch and hear that than the pee pod of Bezos and his crew. Branson had a futuristic airplane that came back, landed and he was able to walk off the plane, get in his SUV and go for some champagne - all the while listening to some cool music. Bezo had a PARACHUTE attached to a pod that landed in the desert dude and had to be rescued by Lauren Sanchez. Hahahah. .
